PHISHING THROUGH YM

#55 - 0--Administrator--PHISHING THROUGH YM--2006-11-30 01:24:33

ball According to several reliable sources that people using Yahoo Messenger are receiving Yahoo instant message phishes which are realistic enough to reel in their victims. I received several
reports from internet users who suddenly being trapped and became a victim to this phishing scam. One of them is Abu Muza - who believed all the information in his account was changed by the hacker leaving him helpless in retreiving his emails. - According to The Intenett Patrol, the phishy Yahoo Messenger messages offer up a link to what appears to be a Yahoo Photos website, saying “click on this website.” The victim is then presented with what appears to be a genuine Yahoo Photos website page, but when the user logs in with their Yahoo! username and password, they are given an error message. Meantime, their username and password are being forwarded on to the phishers, who now have full access to the user’s Yahoo! account.

So, be warned, and as always, don’t click on links sent via YM or any otther Instant Messenger programs unless you are very, very sure of the real identity of the sender.

If you are one of the victims then go to

on how to get back your yahoo id and password, but there is no guarantee it works if the phisher is quick enough to change the personal particulars in the account.
